Easier and cleaner than you might think!

How messy is a paint party?

It’s much cleaner than you might think! People are thoughtful and tidy, but we always plan ahead to prevent any mess. We'll discuss your space and any concerns to choose the right paint medium for your environment. I use a water-repellent canvas drop cloth with plastic underneath for extra protection, but if you'd like more coverage, we can talk options—like folding tables if needed. While it's usually a very clean process, I believe in planning for every possibility!

What are the differences in cleanup for watercolor, oil, and acrylic paints?

Each paint type has its own cleanup needs, and we’ll choose the right one based on your space and cleanup preferences.

Oil paint easiest to clean up with Dawn soap or baby oil until it dries—days later. Watercolor cleans up well except on porous surfaces. Acrylic dries quickly and, once set, becomes almost impossible to remove from fabric or surfaces—so we need to be careful with it!

That said, parties are quite clean, and I take care of washing brushes and palettes, so you don’t have to worry about that.

What does Angie provide?

I bring everything needed for the painting experience: aprons, paint, table coverings (water-resistant canvas with a plastic sheet), brushes, palettes, water containers, art paper or surfaces, paper towels, and even color mixing guides and stencils to help with your project. I also handle the cleanup of brushes and palettes—so no worries there!

What does the hostess provide?

You'll provide beverage glasses, plates, utensils, napkins, and a food and drink plan. You’ll need table(s) and chairs (though I have extra folding tables if needed).

What about food and drink?

I recommend sticking to appetizers to keep things easy, as a full dinner takes up table space that’s needed for painting supplies. You can prepare food or ask guests to bring potluck items. I suggest asking guests to bring wine or something they want to drink—I find people like to contribute—but that’s up to you!

Can I host outdoors?

Outdoors can be fun, we just need to consider weather, lighting, and wind. Let’s talk!

How many people are in a party?

I recommend 10-15 people, with 12 being ideal. A minimum of 10 is needed to keep things running smoothly; we can revisit the pricing if the group is smaller. Larger groups (e.g., up to 50) are also possible—just let me know!

How much notice do you need?

While I can usually accommodate a party with just a week’s notice, 2-3 weeks is preferred for better planning. It also gives attendees time to RSVP.

What day and time is best?

Based on a poll, most people prefer Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings at 6:00 PM. We usually wrap up around 9:00 PM, though it can go until 10:00 PM if the fun continues!
